Classic Sermon: 'Our Reformation Heritage'

By Albert N. Martin - Posted at Sermon Audio: Preached October 31, 1980 Description: A special message to stir us to a new appreciation for the blessings of our Protestant Reformation and that great work of the Holy Spirit in bringing the truth home with power to the common people. As true heirs of the Reformation, we ought to have fresh aspirations for and clear direction in continuing the great work of reformation in our own generation. The Reformation and the Doctrines of Grace

By Jeffrey Stivason - Posted at Place for Truth : I love this time of year but it’s not because the temperature drops, or the leaves fall. I love it because it gives me an opportunity to revisit the history and theology bound up in the Reformation. Many years ago, I made it a habit of watching the 1953 movie Martin Luther staring Niall MacGinnis. This old retelling had a number of scholars working behind the scenes including Jaroslav Pelikan and it was obviously accurate enough to ruffle Roman feathers. Quebec's film censorship board, which was made up entirely of French-speaking Catholics, banned the movie. Why? Because those Catholics understood that the Reformation was no small matter. Luther's teachings remained as heretical in 1953 as they were in the 16th century and was never released in Quebec's movie theaters. In the last several years, I was invited to a presentation by a large church where I live. Over sixty churches showed up, Protestants and Roman Catholics

Martin Luther and the 95 Theses

By Dr. Ryan Reeves - Posted at YouTube: Details: The 95 Theses in many ways started the Protestant Reformation. Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the church door of Wittenberg, and the Catholic Church later excommunicated him for these views. But what are the 95 Theses? Why did Luther post the 95 Theses? This video explains this and the start of the Reformation.  Ryan M. Martin Luther: Carnal Security, Part Two

Posted at Sermon Audio : Details: A severe warning to those who murmur and have a half-hearted love of Christ. Look what happened to Israel! Scripture Text: 1 Corinthians 10:6-13 (KJV) 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such
